Solution

In the standard letter sorting systems supplied by Siemens ElektroCom, letters are picked up at the material inlet and transported to the appropriate place by a suction system.
There is a filter cartridge in this suction system, which operates with a high vacuum in surges.
This filter cartridge must be cleaned every day to prevent it becoming blocked by the very fine paper dust that accumulates there.
Otherwise the standard letter sorting system would suffer down times.
Cleaning the filter cartridges is a very expensive job.

The use of a FSAB fine dust removal (Art. No. 2112) from ROBE Reinigungsmaschinen Handels-GmbH means that the paper dust is collected in a 2-layer filter bag before it reaches the filter cartridge.
This FSAB is installed at a point on the standard letter sorting system that offers easy access (see leaflet) and is connected between the intake.

For safety reasons the FSAB is anti-static and operates silently.
The removal unit container and the filter system is suitable for surge-type intakes, the high vacuum that occurs and for continuous operation.

The experience gathered with the FSAB in many mail sorting centres (ask for our reference list) includes the following points:

Savings in working time:

   1. Instead of having to clean the filters every day, a filter bag only has to be replaced every two to three months.
   2. No down times occur due to blocked filters.

Savings in material:

   1. The Siemens ElektroCom filters are not damaged by cleaning.
   2. The use of the FSAB means that the intake blower is exposed to less dust and therefore offers a correspondingly longer service life.

Improved working environment:


   1. The filter system used in the FSAB means that the waste can be disposed of with low dust levels.
   2. This means a reduction in dust around the letter sorting system compared to previous cleaning operations.

Summary:
The use of a FSAB makes Siemens ElektroCom standard letter sorting systems easier to service and more reliable.
The operator of a system of this type saves costs for servicing work, the purchase of new filter cartridges and prevents down times.
In addition the servicing personnel is exposed to less dust.

Single inlet with one filter cartridge (FVM 990)
    FSAB (Art.No. 2112)


   1. Place the longer hose with the rotating connector into the inlet fitting on the tank and the shorter hose with the rotating connection into the inlet fitting in the cover.

   2. Connect the suction hose (27 mm dia.) connected to the stainless steel tank to the opening at the letter intake point using the flexible connector. Before you do so, replace the end of the standard hose from this point.

   3. Connect the suction hose (27 mm dia.) connected to the cover to the opening in the suction turbine using the flexible connector. Before you do so, remove the other end of the standard hose connected there.

   4. When removing and refitting these hoses ensure that you do not connect them to the wrong connectors.

      (Cover opening = Turbine side / Tank opening = Intake side)

   5. Install the suction hoses so that they do not touch the casing of the suction motor or sharp parts (use the cable ties supplied and tighten them securely).

   1. Place the longer hose with the rotating connector into the inlet fitting on the tank and the shorter hose with the rotating connection into the inlet fitting in the cover.

   2. Connect the suction hose (50 mm dia.) connected to the stainless steel tank to the opening at the distributor using the clamp. Before you do so, replace the end of the standard hose from this point.

   3. Connect the suction hose (50 mm dia.) connected to the cover to the opening in the suction turbine using the clamp. Before you do so, remove the other end of the standard hose connected there.

   4. When removing and refitting these hoses ensure that you do not connect them to the wrong connectors.

      (Cover opening = Turbine side / Tank opening = Intake side)

   5. Install the suction hoses so that they do not touch the casing of the suction motor or sharp parts (use cable ties and tighten them securely

 Double inlet with two filter cartridges (ILV 1000)

   1. Place the longer hose with the rotating connector into the inlet fitting on the tank and the shorter hose with the rotating connection into the inlet fitting in the cover.
